Re: Member Introductions
I am a farmer (heritage chickens and sheep), bookkeeper, web developer, etc. I have one adult son and a dog, 1 cat, about 100 chickens, 2 horses, 3 sheep (lambs coming in March) and 1 alpaca.
I love the weather, especially snow and this forum for giving me advanced notice of the weather. I also love the community on this forum, it's a great place to hang out, even if you aren't into the Canucks.

I chose my user name from my location.

I am in finance, have a love/hate relationship with golf, and a healthy interest in weather (as in my favourite TV channel as a small child was TWN
).

I used to work in media, now, just computers. Lover of weather since as young as I can remember. I used to go to bed with a small AM radio and listen to weather reports at night when my parents didn't know. Of course mostly for snow!

Re: Member Introductions
Been interested in weather since I was about nine years old. That is a very long time ago! Retired from Env Canada, started my own private forecast service shortly after. Have authored one book on weather. Other interests including biking, running, genealogy, gardening and x-country skiing.

Re: Member Introductions
I chose the name SnowGranny because I am a young grandmother to a baby boy that was born, still last December, (Is is our angel baby) and a beautiful little girl here in earth, that was born in November. I am a mother to one grown daughter. My husband and I started our snow removal business in 2008 (what a year to start) and have been going strong ever since. We stay down here on the coast for the winter season, and then we retire back to our place in the okanagan for spring, summer, and most of the fall.
I wish I could say I love the snow, but it’s pretty stressful now. I love the look of it, but not the long hours. Lol
I guess it’s all worth it in the end.
I appreciate all input on what’s happening out there as it makes it easier for me to send out my crews! Lol
You have all helped so much...... even in my 8 years of lurking.

Whoa..5 years late
I have been burning this site since wayyyy back when it was Vancouver Weather Page or something. Hopped on board when we were receiving a huge pumbling of snow in Kerrisdale one March..maybe March 4 or 7 around 2001? (EC was calling for showers or flurries that evening with a Low spinning in the straight sending us band after band of heavy 0c snow. Ended up with around 30cms i think
I like sledding/Quadding/boating/ fishing/Similkameeeens/snow(of course) T-storms/ nature/UFC/hunting/foraging/poker
