Re: January 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
'84-85 was a great winter. Late October cold snap with snow into early Nov. Snow/cold mid Dec thru early Jan with snow on the ground for that period.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 2:10 am O.k. went off memory, right November 84 was the huge arctic blast, over all winter 85/86 was mild l remember snow in wouldn't you know it February 86.
Regarding '85-86 though, I think you're forgetting the last two weeks of November 1985 were absolutely frigid.

O.k. yeah my parents had moved from Vancouver to Richmond just before that foggy stretch. I don't think we got snow in Dec/85 or Jan/86 did we.? I do remember Expo 86 year winter 86/87 was mild l remember one evening in January we went to New West and it was snowing, well Richmond had cold rain.

Re: January 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
We got a decent amount of snow during the overrunning event heading out of the cold snap in early Dec '85. After that, the month was fairly dry and foggy until we got some cold rain/slop the last few days of the month into early Jan. Other than that you remember correctly, no snow in Jan '86.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 2:25 am O.k. yeah my parents had moved from Vancouver to Richmond just before that foggy stretch. Re: January 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
I'm surprised EC left the 5cm to 10cm for the central valley.
I thought they would have up dated it to drop the wording but l guess they left it until the 5a.m. package, it's a long weekend who would have noticed.
