With the media throwing around the term "Atmospheric River", relating it to last year's flooding event, I think a lot of people have come to expect the worst.

Hey!

I’ll take snow over rain any day, but I’ll take rain over sun. Except after a snowfall, then some sun is nice, but more snow is better.

If it gets to within five days and both the Euro and the GFS are saying it, time to get excited. Until then, clowns are for amusement purposes only.
It's called clown range for a reason.

The first rainfall warnings of the season are coming out.
Warnings

12:01 PM PDT Wednesday 26 October 2022
Rainfall warning in effect for:

Metro Vancouver - North Shore including West Vancouver and North Vancouver
Metro Vancouver - northeast including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge

Heavy rain on Thursday.

Locations: Metro Vancouver - North Shore including West Vancouver and North Vancouver, Metro Vancouver - northeast including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge, and Howe Sound.

Total rainfall: 50 mm.

When: Thursday.

Other hazard: Strong southeast winds 50 km/h gusting to 70 km/h near the Strait of Georgia.

Remarks: A vigorous frontal system will bring heavy rain and strong winds to parts of the south coast on Thursday. Periods of rain will begin this evening and intensify to heavy rain on Thursday as the cold front approaches the region. Total rainfall amounts near 50 mm can be expected with higher rainfall amounts over higher terrain.

Heavy rain will taper off and winds will weaken early Thursday evening with the passage of the frontal system.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.

I remember telling Ms. SWScreeks l felt left out we all know how that turned out.
