I’m not sure if summer will be effected by Enso much. The correlation is pretty weak during the summer and the potential La Niña is only just coming into focus now.

It's a wait and see. Hoping for a repeat of last summer. First time we saw average summer precipitation in a long long time.

I went to my new annual vacation in Penticton last August and it was decent, except there was a fire that started near Penticton so I did see that smoke there, but otherwise I could see clear across the lake. The previous August it was smoky which made it not as good as last year. I hope I can go to Penticton again, but not sure what the government thinks about travelling 4 hours for vacation.

I’d guess near to slightly warmer. And probably a little in the dry side but summer rainfall can be pretty spotty anyways and it doesn’t take much to get to average if we see 1 slow moving ULL.

I have read some speculation on a stronger 4CH this summer so we may have to watch to see if it nudges N and W at times.

If you are isolating in your own social group I don’t see a problem with vacations. Shop at home before you leave. Take precautions if you stop for gas. Don’t socialize with people from that area or people you don’t know. But I’m not the government and don’t make the rules.

Nailed it. Take the correct precautions and follow the government's advice. Theres no way to just cancel all vacations anyway. People need their leisure time especially with all the stress.

Agreed. I still feel a hot and dry summer. Hopefully we don't have major wildfires.

A long hot summer = large forest fires. Hoping people dont light the forest on fire...That's just not going to happen. Throw in some dry thunderstorms while you're at it.

I'm surprised to see the timeframe in second place. In the Okanagan I remember highs late June '92, mid June '94, and July - Aug '94 were in the upper 30s and kissing 40C. Kelowna recorded its highest daytime high I think it was July 21 '94. Granted, I know where YVR is, but still.

23.1C in Pitt Meadows at 11:00 am!

However, there is an overheating of 1C to 2C during warm days like today.

It will be 30C this afternoon for sure in the Fraser Valley.

A couple isolated 30s on the Wundermap

Bet those are overexposed to sun though.

This is really specific to YVR though with it being under the influence of marine air from the Salish Sea. There have been some really hot days elsewhere in Metro Vancouver during this time period.
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!
