Also the earth warming 1 or 2 degrees is not catastrophic.

Re: July 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
Do you know this to be true or is it a guess?
My personal thought is that the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle between the extremists and the deniers. I guess we could just go with the status quo and hope for the best.

Re: July 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
Think of the temperature difference there were in the past with ice ages and the ice melting would’ve been quite different than it was now and it wasn’t because of airplanes or cars or cows or plastic straws or you name it

The sun hasn't peaked through since Monday over here. Just persistent clouds and light showers

Alaska has stole our summer and our forest fires. We want it to be warm up there in the winter, not the summer

This took me 2 minutes. I don't post much here but when I read something so outrageous I have to comment. Our winters are proof of climate change. The Northwest passage opening up in the artic is proof of climate change. It amazes me how many people are still denying climate change and that us humans aren't responsible for it. Yes the earth goes through warm phases, but it's never been this quick. This is 100% us. The planet we leave for our kids and grand kids is going to be a disaster unless attitudes change.
Really don't know who to believe... World renowned scientists or Abbyjr.... Tough call for me really.
Thanks for coming to my Ted talk... Carry on with the climate change denying.

On the other hand we have 16 year old Greta Thunberg cruising around the world giving climate talks to crowds of people as an authority on climate change.Ovonucks wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 9:04 pm https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/201 ... egree.html

People like her give me hope that maybe something can be done. Young or not, she's not making anything up and she's in touch with climate scientists and agencies looking to make a difference. Anyone that gets called a threat by oil company executives is A-Ok in my book.

Re: July 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
I don't get any hope from people who simply echo what others are saying. She's contributing to the climate with media mass hype. Cliff Mass is trying to fight the fight of getting mass media to cool the jets on the hype machine headlines, but it's just impossible. People don't know how to think logically anymore.Ovonucks wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 9:38 pm People like her give me hope that maybe something can be done.
