Re: October 2024 Forecasts And Discussions
Happy Saturday under this amazing late season ridging. Highs of 21c-22c for Abby this weekend...wow. Then later next week, Nito will enjoy his 12c Rain for 3 consecutive days
And here it is..December 2024 all snow geeks have been waiting for ..with the LR weather "charts" calling for a cold and snowy month. Where's the troffing?

Re: October 2024 Forecasts And Discussions
The NWS is solid for mid- late next week
Local mountains should get "plowed" with snow
>>Warning shot.
NWS
Periods of rain and locally
gusty winds can be expected with snow levels falling to the higher
passes by Wednesday night or Thursday as a trailing upper trough
axis swings onshore and 500 millibar heights fall below 550 dam
for the first time since last spring. Model consistency and timing
(both deterministic and ensembles) falls off by late next week,
but the overarching trend toward unsettled conditions looks to
remain in place well into the long term forecast period and
beyond.

A bit too much on the warm and sunny side for my liking.

Re: October 2024 Forecasts And Discussions
Reached a high of 21.8C here today. Tomorrow looks similar -- maybe a hair warmer?
It seems like we often get a warm spell around Thanksgiving.
Guessing this weekend will be our last shot of 20 degree weather for the year. Summer sure went by fast, it's hard to believe it's almost mid October!

No, that's been there for ages. It's a Nav Canada radar.

Re: October 2024 Forecasts And Discussions
There's been rumours in the last couple weeks of a gigantic jellyfish at White Rock beach. Lo and behold, look what I found.
My guess is at least 2 feet in diameter, and probably well over 50 tentacles dangling down.
