Are you serious? This is ridiculous. Leighbugs clearly said only rude posts will be deleted. When was the last time I was rude to anyone on here?Weather101 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 6:41 pm Wow. Another post deleted! For saying why doesn't hawk/John and Abby Jr get the same treatment

Re: August 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
Not sure what you think has been allowed for years. All I know is that for years there's not been much drama on this group and the goal is to keep it that way. Whenever someone cannot refrain from bringing drama or talking about the drama endlessly, those posts are going to be deleted. There's nothing productive or valuable about such posts. As such, they are deleted. Opinions are NOT deleted when they pertain to weather, even if said opinion is not popular. We are allowed our opinions and to have rational discussion about the weather. But when things get personal- it's gone too far. Rude posts targeting the opinion of others ARE deleted. Belittling posts like eye-rolling somebody...deleted. Emotional and angry posts directed to members- deleted. Accusatory posts- deleted. Bringing up the drama repeatedly- deleted.Weather101 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 6:42 pm Na. Having reasonable discussion calmly with someone whose opinion you don't agree with but still pertains to weather- NOT deleted.
This is why taking a break is recommended. Nothing is accomplished by angry posting. It just gets more stuff deleted and serves zero purpose.

You're not rude at all.
There's rarely drama here but when there is, there's a common denominator.

Okay, let's move on. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail. My inbox is open if anyone else feels like they wish to say something on this matter.
I'd prefer if we keep anything that may continue this argument to private message. We have a REAL emergency taking place in this province at the moment. This whole thing is a distraction and quite petty in the face of the reality facing many people right now who could lose everything.

Suburbia was always based on this dream that we will forever be blessed with unlimited resources. We are finding out how true that is. Now I see new suburbs it’s just cheaply made cookie cutter houses that look modern in all the worst ways.
[/quote]
Suburbia is also enabled by massive amounts of government regulation micromanaging people and telling them what to do. Can't build apartments in given neighbourhood. Can't even build duplexes. Must have lots at least this big. Must have generous setbacks. Must build a garage with each house. Must not connect street grids. Can't build neighbourhood corner stores. Businesses must build and maintain generous parking lots at their expense. Etc, etc, etc.
To assert that urbanism is the mandated form of development by social engineers when it is what developed naturally pretty much worldwide in the absence of a complex bureaucratic regulatory state, and modern suburbia has only been common since the end of World War II during the presence of such a regulatory state, is political gaslighting.

Max of 23.1ËšC today. Smoke aloft really held temperatures down.

IT’s consistently been modelled to get bad overnight, like 300 ppm. It’s going to be ugly tomorrow.
