It's even worse on twitter. Even a meteorologist mentioning temperature records is mobbed by a bunch of people shouting "fake news."

The terms heatwave, heatdome and atmospheric river continue to get people rallied up and defensive calling these sensationalized headlines that are being used to instill fear in the masses.

Overall I suspect many posters here and in the real world know climate change is a driver behind the recent extremes but the task to combat it is nearly impossible at this rate and requires countries like India, Russia, China and the United States to buy in which won't happen.

I thought today would be cooler, but seems that is not the case.

Currently 32.5C with a humidex of 41.

Morning low was 14.9C.

smokin' hot today. Hotter than even yesterday. And much much lower on the humidity scale. Humidity was record smashing. Vancouver was over 20C for dewpoint for 11 hours in a row yesterday, which is more than twice as long as the previously longest streak.

My solution to the lack of winter snows. Encapsulate your property in some sort of dome. Run snow machines periodically through the fall and winter to replicate snowfalls. Never any disappointment or melting.

EC keeps creeping temps up for tomorrow's high. Now 26c was 23c before and the rain on Wedn is a 60% chance of showers. won't be surprised if it disappears just like snow in winter.

29.8 in sechelt
28.0 here down from a high of 28.7. Still too hot, 26 will be wonderful.

Yes, and YXX hit 34.1 officially as a high today - meaning that's day 6 of consecutive days over 32C. That's gotta be close to (if not actually) a new record...
