Models not catching on the surface temps yet. Very mild 925mb temps and a potential downsloping wind could lead to warmer temps.

Would be nice to have May in December for 1 day. :14popcorn:

A fabulous historical shot of the flooded 'farming flats' of Cloverdale, BC on what was then the Pacific Hwy to the border
I miss those floods. It hardly ever floods anywhere on the farmlands anymore. So no frozen fields to skate on.

Better dyking system or drainage put in over the years perhaps Houndmonster. :? It's currently 5c @ the pond in south Sardis.

I don't know about that. The maps show a max high of 12C. We shall see.

We're losing less than 30 seconds of light a day in a couple days!

My 'impression' (not necessarily facts) is that El Nino has produced occasional killer dumps in the past - probably not to last though...

I've seen some discussion on the web/social media about how things could start looking a bit better around here come January.... hard to believe I know.

Fwiw, for the last few days, the extended GEFS has been showing the west turning below normal once we get into Jan.

Euro weeklies also painted a similar picture.

Not posting this cause I believe it will necessarily happen, just adding it to the discussion.

This post is not El Nito approved.

I saw a Facebook post this morning from yesterday that some think El Nino may have peaked. We'll know in the next couple weeks if this is the case. *fingers crossed*
