Appears the wind storm will be more interesting than tonight's slushy. Hope you score snow that is.

I've learned not to stare out the window looking for slush. Better to just buy a slush bubble tea instead.

All jokes aside, Friday AM might be fun.

Hardest part is slowing her down now. Hopefully soon she can spend more time outside and scare off these predators. She's never been one to kill anything, not even a rat, but her presence is protection regardless.

I'm not 100% sure if it was a bobcat but if it was a house cat it was a mutant. Its just weird because we haven't traditionally had them in this area. But we read on a neighbourhood facebook page there was one hanging around, and next thing you know there's one hanging out on top of our outdoor cat area (also known as a catio). Not sure if this is true but apparently there are a bunch of Cougars hanging around near Maple Ridge. Hopefully they don't end up swimming over here.
That's great to hear your dog is doing so well. :cheerlead: :cheerlead: Mine doesn't kill anything either but she does bark and that works well enough. Last year, I went tearing out of the house when I saw the bobcat after the chickens and she got all excited but just watched the bobcat until I told her to go get it, then she took off after it. Now whenever the chickens make noise she goes over to check it out and barks...sometimes I think it's at nothing but it could be a bobcat hiding in the bush. They will sit out there until she comes in and then steal a chicken 10 minutes later. Wild cats are so hard to protect against.

Bobcats do look a lot like a domestic shorthaired tabby cat but when they stand up their legs are longer, house cats are more rectangular in shape, their body is longer than their legs, bobcats are more square their legs are about as long as their bodies and thicker...if that makes sense. They also have a short tail and white spot on the back of their ear. Here's some good pictures (and funny story, read the second paragraph first) of one showing this: https://www.craigslist.org/about/best/r ... 85958.html

Cougars are even worse because they're bigger but are generally more wary of people...at least up here they are. I've never seen one but neighbours have.

Had a few minutes of chunky rain/wet snow but now it's stopped.

That video is hilarious the guy's cussing at the cat and it's growling away. Probably freaked out thinking only my mom picks me up by the scruff.
Your neighbour probably saw a bobcat, Lynx are not usually found in the lower mainland.

That was a funny video, brave man, I sure wouldn't try that.
