But realistically, there was never any chance of serious cold on the BC coast in the believable range. There were a few clown range GFS runs that showed it here and there but that's it.

Or just warm Nov followed by a good winter. Not saying it'll happen this year though but I'm getting my hopes pretty high right now. :relaxedos:
I know. Just having some fun.

FWIW, I do think there's a good chance we do break our January curse this season.

Anybody here with a WeatherModels account (Ryan Maues) site and finding the CMC 500 MB Height Anomaly maps are not rendering properly? All I get is a pink screen with the isobars. The ridges and troughs are not showing on any of the hours or runs.

I've tried to contact Ryan about this on Twitter but have not heard back.

Here's an example of the issue:

Someone here told me I was negative... Well, no. I just don't get excited 10 or 15 days before...

In Vancouver, this is the 9th consecutive day without rain, which is pretty remarkable in this season.

December 1944 averaged 2.9C at YVR...wouldn't necessarily call that cold.

Ya, it's only 0.7C below average. I have hesitated. :problem:

More on warm Nov/cold Dec combos:

Going off earlier years...I'd also add 1908 and 1932 to that list.

1908-09 and 1928-29 also featured a cool October/warm Nov/cold Jan pattern.
