I was on Seymour on Friday for a hike with my family and I rode down the mountain bike trails afterwards. Gorgeous day up there. We also saw a bear and we apparently walked by pretty close without knowing it. There was a couple behind us and their dog chased it up the rocks and then the bear came running back. Scary! The bear backed off thankfully. Walk your dogs on leash people.
Beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing.
Some people walk there dogs off leash on the trail near where we live. Yet, it’s an on leash trail. It’s always frustrated me that some people don’t follow the simple rule and even more so now that there is a bear in the area. Go to an off leash park if you want your dogs off leash. It would be nice if more people respected the rules. Most do but some don’t, unfortunately.

There's no end in sight. I didnt even post the temperature outlook as its obviously way warmer than normal. No rain until November or maybe the last week of October. My guess cuz that's what happened in 2002 and 1987 with similar patterns.

Scary! We have loads of bears around our place. We get to know them and we both respect each other. However when we go hiking we always carry an air horn and bear spray as added peace of mind case of an aggressive encounter. One day the mother and her two cubs came right up to our window to check us out. Just caught a video of them leaving
I'm in the residential area of south Sumas so no bears but when we lived up the hill in Mission off of Ceadar Way and Badger we had bears in the area afew times. Saw one walking up our cul da sac and had bear scat in our back yard but on the other side of our fence line one time.
Another time looked out our front window only to see a bear chowing down on our garbage.

One of my pet peeves , maybe they're in the minority,I don't know but I'm always see dog owners breaking the rules. Whether it be off leash on traiis or public beaches , especially the smaller beaches on Vancouver island and Whistler. I remember a few years ago in whistler a lady had the gall to have her pit bull off leash and took it swimming with her with kids around. Someone had enough and phoned the by-law dept ,unfortunately she didn't get a ticket, only a warning.

Don't forget about 1896 too!
What about 1986 the summer of Expo? I was just a kid but I remember that was a hot and dry summer and I also recall a very late start to the rainy season that year.

Man oh man Cman79 l figured you to be an old timer with all your weather knowledge around these parts your a tad younger than me and of course years younger than skipper Gumps.
It's a mild 16c @ the pond in south Sardis
Edit: In all fairness to skipper watching the Knuckles over the years l've probably caught up in age to Gimpers.

Yep, summer into early fall 1986 was pretty dry.
0mm in August. September was mostly dry too, and would've had less than 20mm but we had a big rainfall on the 23rd with almost 50mm. Bone dry in October until the 25th.

Yes, we discussed this winter 86/87 before Tsmart it was a terrible winter.
I do recall a bit of cold air in Nov/86 with afew flurries in Richmond but after that other than some slush in that early to mid January 87 period that was all she wrote.
