Re: December 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Ok guys. You wanna know the real reason for why winters have steadily declined in quality the past decades?
It's because worship of Ullr, the Norse snow god, has dwindled.
Pray for snow, to Ullr, and all shall be granted!

It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Freezing rain all the way up to the Arctic Ocean in December? That’s got to be unusual!
It's called clown range for a reason.

At one point it was snowing and -10ËšC here, cold enough that the snow squeaked when walked on. That does not happen very often in this part of the world!Weather101 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 3:25 pm I must say, I enjoyed the event personally. Memory isn't hitting me well but it was around -8c and snowing in the middle of the day felt nice. Doesn't happen that often anymore.

Good point. Honestly, if we had one or two deep lows track just to our south, it would have been a December 1996 repeat. So close.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 7:00 pm At one point it was snowing and -10ËšC here, cold enough that the snow squeaked when walked on. December 1996 was truly exceptional: a very juicy pineapple express duking it out with a strong arctic blast.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Another repeat of that is fine for me, We should not expect a full out snowmageddon.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 7:00 pm At one point it was snowing and -10ËšC here, cold enough that the snow squeaked when walked on. That does not happen very often in this part of the world!

Re: December 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Nice. I think that would be the closest GFS run to put us in the deep freeze. We've seen a few teasers now, hopefully its on to something
