Really think any cold pattern will hold off till March-April at this rate.

Region wide windstorm for Thursday morning on the 18Z NAM 3km. Not sure it will verify though.

Sounds good. Here we go! 50-100cm of snow is modelled region wide. Looks like 1954 so we all stay up for the 06Z GFS. Even the Euro is onboard within 5 days. However, 72-96hrs out it all falls apart. End result being a quick snow to rain transition overnight with temperatures going well above zero the next day. I mean if we can't get a real world winter storm we might as well enjoy tracking a fantasy one driven by clown models. :14clown:

They might need to change the name to Mt. Slushmore.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Quite windy up here last night, the power was out for most of the night and now we have a Wind Warning. No rainfall warning though.

I'm so glad you and your family are okay. That looks way too close for comfort.

To clarify, while I do enjoy extreme weather, I would never ever want anyone to suffer. During the November 2021 floods, I was devastated for those who were trapped in their cars due to the landslides and those who lost everything. With the heat dome earlier that year, I was deeply saddened to hear about all the fatalities. It's a very challenging inner battle to enjoy various weather events that on the one hand, are exciting for an enthusiast but on the other hand, result in devastation to others. But keep in mind, even snowstorms can cause tragedies. People are far more likely to end up in serious vehicle accidents due to the snow. If it's heavy and wet, roofs can cave in. Yet, I know both you and I and most if not all of us on this forum cheer on snowstorms. Nobody wants people to suffer. Rather, it's tracking the models, breaking records, and storm chasing that we enjoy.

I don't think tomorrow is that stormy for most of the Metro region, but that little low spinning up for Boxing Day morning could be interesting. I think the mesoscale models are just now picking up on something around 980 crossing here-ish.

Depending on exactly where it could be a sneaky little storm for the city.

Anyone one by themselves for Christmas this year? I guess you have to persevere through it. Perhaps afew egg grogs will help the mood :drunk:

Yeah I'm interested in the low for Boxing Day. Could be a widespread windstorm depending on the track. Should have a better idea tomorrow.
