Thank goodness it’s just El Niño driving this and not something far more sinister.
No doubt. Wouldn't surprise me to see another major arctic blast next winter if we go into a La Niña/+QBO. At the very least, the ski hills should be fine assuming El Niño falls apart as most climate models are currently suggesting. Still far out but solid chance La Niña returns next winter.

59 degrees spread for Puntzi Mountain for the month with expected higher temperatures tomorrow. That's a new record for any month(records since 1969). Old record of 57.8 set in Nov 2005.
50.3 for Tatlayoko Lake with higher temperatures tomorrow. Highest monthly temperature swing since Jan 1943!
59.2c for Fort Nelson. -45.5c to 13.7c.
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!

Yeah, I was worried we we were screwing up the globe. Now I can get back to idling my Toyota Tundra in the driveway and pointlessly drive around the place.

In 1 week, we will probably start seeing daylight peak out at close to 7am. Sunrise will be roughly 7:30 AM by next Friday and I notice daylight roughly 20 minutes before sunrise.

Yep it’ll all go back to normal after El Niño, just like how it was normal during the La Niña of 2021 for example.

Of all the models you could have gone for the Tundra is a truly troll choice for the name it bears

Believe it or not, another SSW event is possible mid to late February. March 1951 repeat?
