I was wondering the same thing, but it is interesting. The new GFS was/is supposed to have a massive increase in vertical resolution. Apparently the first upgrade to the vertical resolution of the GFS in years. I don't know or understand much of what has changed in the actual physics of the model, however.

Yes I have to leave this depressing climate at the end of this week and I'm going to go visit the Similkameen again where I will be ice fishing on a frozen lake catching some nice organic tasty trouts that I put into a smoker and make smoked fish. I will try to go snowmobiling and if I do I will take some photos so you guys can see how nice it is up there with tons of snow. :thumbup:

I like seeing those big ensemble spreads in the long range. Generally means things are getting Meridional and hopefully blocky. We should at least be in the running for something good.
