Straight rain up at SFU. Snow continues near SL in Southern areas.

It was weird riding my bike back home from Hastings/Sunrise. Nothing more than slushy rain ever fell there (maybe a few minutes of wet snow when I wasn’t looking, that would be it). As I lost elevation, it actually got snowier! Or should I say slushier, because the dusting that had fell was melting. Then around Trout Lake it got too low and the dustings disappeared. Then I started gaining elevation and they quickly came back, and the rain became mostly wet snow, with amounts getting heavier as I went. There was quite a bit of slush in the streets at home.

Shows how there was a heavier precip band to the south, I think. That would explain why places in Delta and Surrey with no more altitude than me got more snow (and why even the hilltops in Hastings/Sunrise got skunked).
It's called clown range for a reason.

I would guess that highway cam is to your south, based on general patterns today.

Too far north, missed out on the heavier precip. Several of the short term models showed this.

Ya, not an elevation based snowfall. Temps rose once precip intensity decreased... at least around here.

Weak outflow aloft allowed for just enough dry cool air to filter in. Areas sheltered from this saw mostly rain.

Explains why South Surrey is continuing to see snow while Burnaby Mountain is seeing rain right now.

EC got the snowfall warning all wrong.

They sure did!

"A snowfall warning has been issued for the North Shore, including North and West Vancouver, and Northeast Metro Vancouver, including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge"

lol  They had ZERO snow.
