That's the only thing I'd really miss if we stopped changing the clocks.

Can you guys remember about the 'cold' shown on GFS for early November a few days ago?
Someone here told me I was negative... Well, no. I just don't get excited 10 or 15 days before...
In Vancouver, this is the 9th consecutive day without rain, which is pretty remarkable in this season.

SST temp departures and atmopsheric pattern very reminiscent of 2014-15. Bitter cold will keep the East frozen for the next 3-4 weeks.
Bit of a downer about the local ski hills. Probably not going to see a Nov opening.

I'm pretty sure there were other cold Oct/warm Nov/cold Dec or Jan years out there.
Or just warm Nov followed by a good winter. Not saying it'll happen this year though but I'm getting my hopes pretty high right now.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Excepted 1949, I found 1984 only.

I remember hearing moaning and winter cancels toward the end of Nov that year.

The wise old man said this will be an epic winter , so I can see why you're very optimistic.

It’s okay to look at the long range models and act excited. Most people are just having fun. Personally I don’t really get excited until it’s within that day 3-5 window.
