All these morons were warned to stay home, and they just got stuck in traffic for hours:

Essential workers do not get the day off no matter what.
You also get asshole employers who threaten to fire you if you don't attempt to come in.

Yeah I bet the majority aren’t truly essential. Essential for their employers pocketbooks maybe.

Ha my coworker was sharing a story about his former employer telling him to make alternate arrangements which included booking a hotel in downtown for 3 days in 2017. He asked about expensing it and they said "oh, this is for your safety and at your own cost."

All of my employees are off today and they will be paid for it. I would rather not have any issues to deal with in this weather then they work today. A couple of job up in Whistler too, so don't wanna hear anyone getting in an accident. Dealing with ICBC is not easy.

Just shoveled. I didn't want too many people walking through it. Having a snowblower helps but I have learned that I need a much longer extension cord to cover my whole corner lot. WIll measure again after the last few bands move through. Can really tell when snow is heavier just by the strength of sunlight now that it's daytime. Snowier periods are much dimmer.
