EC dropped the wind warning..

Bomb Cyclone... all the hype and it was weaker than an average wind storm here. :problem:
It was high impact for the island.

Blame the media. Models were good. It was never expected to be a big deal for the LM

Good. I think windstorms suck anyways. Not sure why power outages and downed trees are fun...

:alert:
3:50 AM PST Wednesday 20 November 2024
Weather Advisory in effect for:

Metro Vancouver - central including the City of Vancouver Burnaby and New Westminster

Elevated ocean water levels accompanied by significant wind and waves are expected, likely exceeding highest astronomical tide.

Where: Coastal sections of Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast, Southern Gulf Islands and Metro Vancouver, southern sections of Howe Sound near Bowen Island.

When: Today near high tide

High Tide: Late this morning

What: Minor coastal flooding due to storm surge and high tide

Hazards:
- Minor flooding near coastal areas to due waves crashing onshore
- Powerful waves can roll logs and heavy debris along beaches

Additional Information:
Storm surge from gale to storm force southeast winds combined with seasonably high tide will produce elevated water levels for areas near the water across the south coast on Wednesday. Coastal flooding is possible along exposed shorelines, especially in low-lying areas.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.

The high tides are backing up Cougar Creek by Planet Ice and Nordel Way which is resulting in the flood waters not draining away from the bike path. I have been riding through 6" deep water all this week and last week. To avoid this a 2 km detour is required
