Real Americans (tm) follow the GFS! Anyone who pays attention to one of those furriner models is an elitist socialist globalist!
It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
It's ridiculous how emotionally invested they get with maps showing potential scenarios 10+ days out. Every 4-6 hours with some of them staying awake overnight.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 8:45 am Real Americans (tm) follow the GFS! Best to assume we are going to see climo prevail and enjoy the sunshine before wet and seasonal weather returns.

Then, the whole thing reloads and starts again -- maybe with a focus on the Western U.S. this time.

I used to have that level of emotional investment, then I had a wife and kids...wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 9:05 am It's ridiculous how emotionally invested they get with maps showing potential scenarios 10+ days out. Every 4-6 hours with some of them staying awake overnight.

Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
A relatively mild (compared to down the hill) overnight low of -0.3c
Was so nice to wake up to clear/sunny skies this am.
We deserve it!

Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
Euro was boring if you want any active or cold weather.
Slightly below seasonal temps and dry.
Coldest air remains east of the Rocky's.

Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
The Euro and GEM are fantastic runs if you want clear sky without it being too cold. It really beats the low cloud and drizzle nonsense the GFS is showing us.
I always thought our window for snow and cold is the 2nd half of Feb when we move towards a more Nina-ish pattern with solid +heights over the Pacific.
