NAM still looks good for the Valley. I think this could end up being an Island and Valley special Sunday night though I think higher elevations of Metro Vancouver will do good as well. Looks like EC also says Island and Valley special with 5-15cm for the Island, 2-5cm for the Lower Mainland and 10cm for the Valley.

Really depends on how unstable the airmass is and whether the offshore gradients flatten. See RH near 35-40% In E Fraser Valley tomorrow.
Then again...anything goes. GFS is a smudge bit better for moistute despite warmer onshore flow.

Zilch for South Sardis? I'll take it. Now if only the underdog Wrinkle Rockers can get a couple of converted touchdowns and get back in the ball game.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 7:49 pm 2-5cm for higher hills above 150m of Metro Van. Slush below with rain near SL.
10cm E Vancouver Island, especially above 100m.
Fraser Valley....cold pool and some downsloping could really limit moisture out there. Don't want to say zero...but it could be zero.

I think there is a very small chance that the air mass is to dry to support snow in the Valley. This isn't a strong outflow event.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 7:49 pm 2-5cm for higher hills above 150m of Metro Van. Slush below with rain near SL.

Yea it’s a tough call. Looks like that weak low will kind of meander around.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 8:06 pm Really depends on how unstable the airmass is and whether the offshore gradients flatten. See RH near 35-40% In E Fraser Valley tomorrow.

Sure hope so , my bad back's against the wall, gonna give it 110%,on second thought at my age I could only give about 40% , gotta take 1cm at a time, one snowfall at time, and maybe put a tarp over sardineman's property when he's not looking.

So true..I'm not in victoria but langford so we can get a tiny bit of snow. Just cant see realistically the grass being white in town. Maybe just the tips.

Interesting drive around Surrey today. Frost lasted all day on northern protected sides of the ground and roofs. In my area frost stayed on my neighbours car all day in the shade. My drive from South Surrey to home included 3 temperature zones. -1 in South Surrey, -3 at sea level along the farmland (odd) -1 in Cloverdale, - 3 in Fleetwood and Tynehead, -1 in Fraser Heights.

It's so borderline with temperatures that this could bust easily, but still.

Yeah. Nice little band of wraparound moisture around that low. Looks cooler too, so that's promising.
