It's just too bad it looks to be suppressed and completely split which really helps the moisture get shredded by the outflow.
Still time for things to trend better again... or worse.

I'm getting some fairly strong outflow gusts now. Very cold at -5C with a dewpoint of -19C. My low last night was -7C.

Definitely colder than I thought it was going to be in Victoria so far today. Outflow is going strong and temperature is still at -3. My temperature hasn’t really budged since I woke up this morning.

Monty what are your thoughts on snowfall over the weekend on the South Island? I know things are trending on cutting back on amounts however as long as precip makes it up (which all models show happening) I’m thinking there could be some enhancement of snowfall due to outflow...what do you think?

Does your wife know about your infatuation with tumbleweeds. It’s disturbing and probably verging on infidelity

Euro track looked good we might get in on some deformation if that thing doesn’t trend any further south. 8-15cm around Victoria are my thoughts but it could still go
Better. A few mb stronger low might help fight the suppression and it would be a good one.

Fun fact: young shoots of the most common tumbleweed, Russian Thistle (Salsola kali), are in fact edible.
It's called clown range for a reason.
