Love the Larch Trees this time of year! I never even saw a larch tree until my 20s when I first visited the Okanagan (no larch west of Falkland).

He should be worried. Cool October followed by a warmish November is exactly the pattern we need.

Yep, it's from Cranbrook Mountain. You can drive (on a narrow, steep gravel road) pretty close to the summit.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Looks very scenic.

Always loved the east kootenays. Interesting fact not known by most people is that some parts of the southern columbia valley are traditionally grasssland filled with scattered ponderosa pine forests and sagebrush due to the dry climate. Read this interesting article about that a while back: https://www.natureconservancy.ca/en/whe ... tenay.html

True, but it's a sad time when you have your fingers and toes crossed for an average winter...

I should be on the ferry ⛴ Sunday night. That’ll be fun
I have people coming over from the Island on Thursday and returning Friday to pick up a lamb. I hope the ferries are running to the Island. Our run from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale is pretty sheltered and was cancelled for the first time in an 'abundance of caution'.

It's a bit windy out there tonight. I can hear the wind blowing through the trees.

I don't think it was felt in this area, you're the first to mention anything about it.
