20mm in 2023 (so far), which makes it the 57th driest May on record. The 1990-2020 average is 30.7. But prior to the 1980s May was a lot drier! 1/3 as wet. The 1951-1980 average is 21.5 mm.
Direst on record:
1) 1901 = 0
2) 1904= 0.4
3) 2018 = 2.4
4) 2007 = 3.1
5) 1907 = 3.4
Wettest:
1) 1942 = 64.7
2) 1902 = 63.6
So 1901 was the driest on record and the following May was the 2nd wettest on record.

The smoke has moved in this afternoon. It still pretty clear but Vancouver Island has disappeared.
