Geesh alot of us seem to have family members affected by fires.Forrest Gump wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 11:19 pm Another new fire, this time in Sicamous, now I also have a relative who has been affected and given evacuation orders. It is my sister's summer home, they have packed up and heading back to their main home in Vermilion, Alberta. Apparently fire started from a car crashing into a power pole which caused a transformer to explode on highway 97a.

Re: July 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
EC has 30% chance of showers for tonight and 40% plus thunderstorms for tomorrow and tomorrow night. Had anyone seen anything that would support this?

Nothing forecasted for the valley as far as Tstorms Ms. Creeks sounds like a spin the wheel forecast or pin the tail on the donkey. or throwing darts blindfolded.Roberts Creeker wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 1:31 am EC has 30% chance of showers for tonight and 40% plus thunderstorms for tomorrow and tomorrow night. That would explain the forecast, I think any one of those is a good guess.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 1:45 am Nothing forecasted for the valley as far as Tstorms Ms. Creeks sounds like a spin the wheel forecast or pin the tail on the donkey. or throwing darts blindfolded.

Re: July 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Models are showing some light showers on the mainland tomorrow. Not much accumulation. I’d be surprised if there was thunder. Perhaps over the mountainsRoberts Creeker wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 1:31 am EC has 30% chance of showers for tonight and 40% plus thunderstorms for tomorrow and tomorrow night. Re: July 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
High resolution NAM shows some showers across the south coast tomorrow but probably will be just some drizzle/mist that doesn't amount to anything like we saw early Saturday morning.Roberts Creeker wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 1:31 am EC has 30% chance of showers for tonight and 40% plus thunderstorms for tomorrow and tomorrow night. Re: July 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Just a few more months until 850mb temps are a tad too warm and we dry out just as the cold air arrives. Right Nito? Tell em Nito!

The GFS this morning has some showers over your area, but nothing meaningful.Roberts Creeker wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 1:31 am EC has 30% chance of showers for tonight and 40% plus thunderstorms for tomorrow and tomorrow night. Had anyone seen anything that would support this?

Pretty ugly forecast. That’s probably the best chance of precip in the next 2 weeks. I’m seeing gathering model confidence in a stronger ridge towards early august.

Kamloops has been above 30C on 26 consecutive afternoons. They may not make it today.

Re: July 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
If this year is anything like 1878, 1896 or 1951 with top tier dry spells across the south coast that began in mid June, we'll be waiting until mid-late September for any significant rainfall.
There's probably a few more years that I missed, but 2012 had a similarly long duration dry spell, from mid July thru mid October.
