Here is the current temperature here on the thermometer:

This is the view of the lake from our deck:

And here is a photo from our canoe trip yesterday. You can see all the trees that burned a few years ago in the forest fires.

We are having lots of fun on our holiday. Leaving to come home tomorrow, just in time for the upcoming heat wave.
Great photos! Love the one from your canoe trip. Perfect weather for a holiday!

Looks like a lot of charred/dead trees there from the big fire in the area in 2017.
Thanks.

What's interesting is that mixed in with all the trees that burned were sections of the forest that remained untouched. Just goes to show the unpredictable nature of fires.

Another blazing hot day here on the Sunshine Coast. ;) ;) Sechelt hit a high of 23.9c and my high was just over 22c. Annoyingly my weather 'station' only keeps whole numbers. Anyway, it was a lovely day, started out very cool with the cloud cover and turned out to be very pleasant.

Sunset tonight.

Yes..i often work in burn zones. Probably the wind gusting the fire into one direction, while dying out on the back end. Or, a slight break in the tree canopy allowing the fire to die out in some sections. Burn zones = Natures clean up?

Whoa that troff looks legit. 850's bouncing down around 12-14c   with significant signals going back to wetcoast fluids :shh: and
If this occurs, we are past the extensive heatwave portion of summer. The longer nights and lower sun angles pretty much eliminate those dreaded 18c-19c Low temps. Tell em Nito!! 8-) 8-)

Almost back to Vancouver. So of course the hot weather is gonna follow me. Hope the models are right and it is short-lived. I got more than my fill of hot days in Albuquerque.

Heatwave will probably overperform Monday-Wednesday. High clouds will lead to less cooling overnight. Michael suggesting a downsloping component as well which may warm us up Monday overnight into Tuesday. Potentially could reach 38C to 40C for some areas here if things go this way.

Humidity will be the issue Wednesday-Saturday with no mechanism to drive the heat out.

Potentially AQ issues with wildfire smoke coming into the region Wednesday PM. Will likely be very hazy towards the end of the week.
