Been snowing on Saltspring since around 9:30. Only just starting to see accumulation

From what others here have said (apologies, don't exactly remember who) the NAM's low placement often leaves much to be desired.

This run was actually decent for my area (10 inches). But I want to see it further north so that my accumulations are safer and you can score!

It doesn't do well with large scale patterns. However some ECMWF and GFS runs have been hinting towards seeing a split of the energy with the main low going south. Interesting to see the NAM showing this as well.

I guess that's why Mark Madryga on the noon news was kinda still sitting on the fence, doesn't want to commit to any scenario just yet,but did say that several cm's of snow is probable.

Yeah, this one looks to be improved for them at this point.

I think models were a bit overzealous with outflow limiting snow in metro van prior to the Dec 21/08 storm (similar to this one at the moment). YVR still ended up picking up 28cm with the event, including a one day total of 22cm.
