Latest GFS runs show that there could be a shot at some warmer weather for a brief period towards the end of next week:

After that the ridge settles to our S/SE (thinking this could be a theme this summer). If this were to shift N/NW a bit things could change. I believe this is what some of the Euro runs were showing. Something to track for the hot weather peeps!

I'm still skeptical but the Euro ensembles continue to show some very hot solutions. :silent:

Most likely overdone, but there is some pretty intense heat being shown in parts of Oregon and California with that ridge. Wow.

As mentioned, it remains to be seen if we get any of it.

You're talking about something that is 8 days away as if it's a lock. We'll see, the trend could be there that we'll get something warmer again (28-32C) but we're too far away to know for sure.

Sad to see so many AM stations shut down all that's left will be multicultural stations. It's a rather warm 23c currently at the pond in south Sardis.

It’s a weather forum let’s talk weather
I learned it from you! Year after year when you brought up nonsense like teachers' strikes when the topic should have been weather, so thanks for showing me the way.

And John, I talk more about weather than you, so don't try to act like a saint now.

In 2024 that is a temperature you will see more and more. India recently had some 55Cs (not sure what that is in F). Things are getting intense.

1- India's all-time record is 51.0°C in May 2016. This year, the highest was 50.5°C.

2- 50°C (122°F for Americans only...) in Death Valley is common. Happens every year. Don't need to be in 2024.
