12Z Euro had some showers around the region next Sunday. Hopefully the trend continues.

Hmm. The GEM has teased this. But it'll be brief for sure if so.

That streak in '51 sure was a beast. Was followed by a good winter as well.

Edit: On the topic of historical dry spells, I think 1896 was perhaps the most significant in recorded history. Over a 76 day period from June 11th to September 14th of that year, the old Steveston station (pretty close to YVR) only recorded 8.1mm of rain.

I’ll be working at a golf course starting in September teaching people how to golf!

Abbotsford Canucks tickets are in the cards come fall so the fall/winter will be very fun. Eyes out for lots of snow this year too
We'll miss the pilot reports Cornman but you can always give us a weather report from the course.

Sleepless night in Osoyoos tonight, just adds to the growing list of B.C. city's or towns under threat, and no state of emergency.
Horgan made a comment the other day saying no need for an emergency order as we have all the resources already fighting the fires, huh makes no sense. :?

At work there are days I look at the radar over Glen Valley and just shake my head. A mid air is inevitable. Good luck with the golf!
Thanks Bono! I think I’ll have nightmares about Glen Valley for the rest of my life

Made it to Calgary for the night. Three valley Gap fire was bad this afternoon and has seemingly become much worse since then, and as a result the Chateau and all along Highway 1 was just put on evacuation alert. Unfortunately wouldn’t be surprised to see Highway 1 close through there in the coming days, what a nightmare for travellers

My wife has a friend in Savona. She posted a picture just recently of the Tremont creek fire getting very close to them. She said if it crosses the River they are getting out. If it’s close to the river in Savona, that would mean that the fire has made a significant run this afternoon and evening. I was watching the humidities drop this afternoon in the interior and I knew it might get ugly. Cache creek was 35C with 11% humidity and gusty SW winds. Those are ugly fire numbers.

I have to go to Golden tomorrow. Does anyone think highway 1 through Three Valley Gap will close? That is going to be a LONG detour.

Oh geez, I'm just catching up...a fire is close to the Coq also?! How would I even get to Golden assuming the Coq is open but Three Valley highway one is closed? And how would I get there if the Coq was closed AND highway one? I am looking at maps but it's so hard to judge which way is best...

I have to go. Hubby is going for business, working on the highway 1 project just outside of Golden and I'm going along for the trip and then right after we plan to head to the cabin for a few days and spend some time sightseeing around B.C.
We have to be in Golden by tomorrow (21st) evening. Hopefully we can manage to sneak by before things get too crazy and routes maybe start closing. But anyone here who is more familiar with routes/times...I'm open to back-up suggestions of how to get around this in the least possible time, just in case. Looking at a map, it's obvious we would have to approach Golden from the south instead of via Revelstoke but what is the fastest route to do that? I see a road heading north of Nakusp and through that area but I am just not at all familiar with that part of the province.

You could take hwy 3 through the south and then go up through the kootenays
