Hi adt83, thanks for sharing your the local update. I like this forum for all the knowledge, the fun and the localized weather reports.adt83 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 10:10 am Back for my once a year snow post Light flurries have been intensifying over the last hour in East Van and the flakes are starting to fill in a bit.
I also just want to say that I appreciate this forum and all the skilled weather knowledge everyone shares here. As a snow lover, I always check-in during the winter to see what is being shared.
Currently snowing here, medium sized flakes, so dry they're floating up sometimes and the ground is getting white. Taking the dog for a walk in it soon, just can't resist.
-0.2 warmed up another 0.1 dp steady at -3 high cloud cover...but snowing! Love it

Tell Em Buttee!!!Hawk wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 10:26 am That Low west of N/Central Van isle is doing its work. The clouds have not been pushed out to the coast by the weak arctic push. Instead clouds are staying stationary, as the Low pumps up the moisture. If anything, the clouds are building up dropping some heavy flurries. Why is this happening Nito? I thought it was bone dry front coming at us?

Give it a few more hours and the purple makes it north of the 49th.

The south trends are a bit worrisome. Does help hold the cold in longer though with low staying offshore.Esquimalt39 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 10:16 am Euro showing 15 inches here. I am worried it trends too far south

The gfs was really threading the needle on the last couple of runs. Definitely not a lock imo.

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
First system looks to take forever to saturate the airmass but drops some snow but scours out low level cold. 2nd brings warm air aloft, quickly warms up and transitions to rain fairly quickly. hence lower snow totals.

A widespread 15–20 cm and the most important area gets 28 cm. No complaints.
