Edit: Makes the odd error..but don't we all?
Yeah he said 300, SFU is 350+ so no error there.

Yes,quite aware that i live in the white rock-tsawwassen- ladner-richmond banana belt ,and would never move anywhere else in the lower mainland. Having said that I've seen lots of wet bulb effect snow over the years. And sometimes get lucky with a foot of snow in one day like last year, which was enough to propel me to victory over Sardineman in the Over the Hill Winter Classic. 8-)

He's referring to mid/late December 2007.

Dec 1/2nd, 2007 was an overrunning event which dropped 10-40cm over the south coast before temps shot up in the days following

The good news is the SST off the coast are expected to cool a touch. Incoming systems are running warmer despite the cold 850mb temps. -6C 850 mb temps and offshore surface winds usually bring snow down to 100m

temp has dropped to 1 here and dewpoint is 0. We have slushy rain, which I'll call a win since we weren't supposed to drop below 4c!

From the ENSO site in Austrailia re: Indian Ocean (they have a lot to lose with warmer dryer weather):

"The IOD value has fallen from a peak of +2.2 °C in mid-October, to the latest weekly value of +0.6 °C. Warmer than average waters persist near the Horn of Africa, but waters in the eastern Indian Ocean are now near-average. While the index is still above the positive IOD threshold of +0.4 °C, most international climate models surveyed by the Bureau indicate the positive IOD will dissipate in January. The rate of current weakening would suggest a return to neutral is likely by early January. "

Miss Creeker, how's your 14 cm coming along? Or are you too far from sechelt.

Well, so far I have 0 of 14 cm, I haven't seen a single little white snow flake yet, probably as you said, I'm too far from Sechelt, but since I joined TeamRain, I've been happy with the results.

Pretty unimpressed with this storm so far, had bigger winds yesterday with no SWS, couldn't call the rain more than a drizzle so far with the occasional light breeze, maybe that'll change tonight? :dunno: :dunno:
