Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Glad to see my surprise I forecast last week for this weekend turning out to be true.
We are headed into a snowy period for the entire SW BC area.
Possibly starting Thursday night into Tuesday, we could see variable amounts of snow, with the weekend looking like a blizzard especially in the Valley. How far west that gets will be interesting.
Snow Forecast:
Wed - 2 - 4CM Possible.
Thurs - 1CM
Fri - 2CM
Sat - 20CM
Sun - 10CM
Mon - 10CM
Tues - 1 - 5CM Higher Elevations.
As you can see you might come out of this with 45CM is some parts of the LM. over the 5 day period or so.
This weekends system is looking good at this point and will most likely be blizzard like conditions.
Strong outflow winds should pick up tomorrow and over Thurs going into Fri. They will probably die down for the weekend.
Looking like my original call of 60 - 70KM
After a slight warming Mon and Tues it looks possible to cool down again. Things really look amazing. I'm very excited this time around.
With a region wide snowstorm, the entire BC coast may be covered in snow!
Good news is the ground, and everything else will be frozen solid, so no melting, snow sticking from the get go.
This really has turned out with all the right factors just ripe for delivery of a snowy stretch without the typical melt.
*subject to slight changes, this is what it looks like at this point.
