It's raining. It's glorious. We need more of this. Taking the kids out to jump in puddles.

Well, unfortunately the 12Z models aren't great for the areas that need rain the most in the interior. Let's hope that busts and they get copious amounts of rain.

The GFS breaks the ridge down after a few days. I'm becoming slightly optimistic it won't be a long lasting death ridge. I'm sure it'll form again though.

6.4 mm at KBLI, 5.3 mm in my neighborhood.

The 20.1 mm at CYVR is probably correct. I am not all that far from the southern edge of this thing (Seattle has gotten nothing or a trace, Everett has received less than a mm), plus Vancouver benefits from upsloping on the Coast Mountains that I do not.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Still, it shows two days of 38C in Abbotsford.

I'm interested in what the 12Z Euro shows.

Hottest days look like Thurs and Fri with a thermal trough
moving up. This looks to bring rather strong E winds up to 850mb. Big issue will be the smoke from Wed onwards through Sat. Worst smoke of the summer.

How hot do you think Abbotsford and Chilliwack will get with the smoke?

2018 gave us temps that were about 8 to 10 C lower than modelled if I remember correctly.

That was really thick smoke. It remains to be seen how much smoke we get this time. :hmm:

The GEM breaks it down too around the 16th. Also just got a nice heavy shower for about 20 minutes. Glad this didn't bust.

Looking like a more pronounced heat spike on the ensembles in recent runs. Hot for 4-5 days before the ridge breaks down

Euro says we are done with the rain over here. Probably more to come later today for the LM though
