Driving eastbound to Winnipeg on Monday, hoping forest fires don’t close the coquihalla before then.

Side note, I couldn’t access my old account so after many efforts I just opened this new one.

The crowsnest is a good backup option if the coquihalla does close.

- Probably no measurable precipitation on June 28, 2013 (so 33 days).
- In 1990, it's 41 days (July 8 to August 17).
- In 1985, without the 0.8 mm on June 29, it would have been 47 days!

Today, we are at 32 days without measurable precipitation. The 3rd place is very likely.

Thanks, I'll change that on the Vancouver stats page. I put that together quickly so there was bound to be mistakes.

~20-35 day streaks are very common every summer but putting together longer streaks is difficult as they can be broken by small rainfalls with weak NW fronts.

It was a misty and drizzled for a bit here this morning (didn't amount to anything), so I'm assuming YVR didn't record anything measurable either to keep the streak intact.

Unfortunately there was no station in Vancouver back in 1896, but there was another significant dry streak back then too. Other than a measly 1.5mm on June 17th, it was dry from June 10th thru July 31st at the old Esquimalt station.

"Shocking images continue to pour out of the 12Z GEM. Meteorologists and weather enthusiasts alike were stunned to wake up to images of a single frame of rain over the Lower Mainland. Tyler Hamilton passed out at his desk as he tried to comprehend what he was seeing. As he was given first aid he was seen hyperventilating and shouting "hallelujah". While this outcome was unlikely to verify, this sight has been so rare in recent times that many in the weather community had given up hope and taken up other hobbies."
