That was quite the stormy weekend! I had my first holiday shopping email this morning. It's almost time for the Egg grog.

I’ve seen a plow truck driving around Coquitlam a few times already during the past couple of weeks. They are already gearing up for some big snows this winter!

I believe they are training drivers… but still… I’m going with the getting ready for the epic snows that await.

Saw a couple near my place a while back on Chilko and Lougheed too. Let's hope it's a good omen. 8-)

For what it's worth, 1996/97 looks like a good analog for this upcoming winter with low ascending solar, weak-neutral ENSO, and -QBO. We are also due for a solid front loaded winter. The last time we saw anything decent in November is 2010 if I'm not mistaken.

We had some snow in November 2011 as well.

But yeah, the arctic blast in Nov 2010 was definitely our last significant winter event in November. Definitely overdue for something.

Truth is we could have the perfect analogues all lined up and just swing and a miss.
