Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Which year are you referring to?
2015 lowest snowpack, warmest/driest winter. Brutal south coast fires.
2016 record shattering April heatwave, leading to fort McMurray fire
2017 bad flooding in interior, worst fire season on record.
2018 jk worst fire season on record, more bad flooding
2019 coldest February followed by bone dry spring
2020 driest spring on record
2021 nuff said.
This won't stop when our manmade calendar turns to 2022. This is our new normal. I wish it weren't so. I just hope we can squeeze a cold version of this out of it.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Be careful what you wish for
2021
A hot summer: Unprecedented heat dome
A sunny summer: Record dought
A wind storm: Noteworthy UBC tornado
Rain to ease the drought: Destructive flooding
...and your asking for 50" of snow?!? (runs out to buy stock in snow plows never mind snow blowers)

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Guys I figured it out. Vancouver just needs to cut its snow removal budget. Murphy's Law will take care of the rest.Roberts Creeker wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 6:15 pm Be careful what you wish for

If the changing climate can push a record polar vortex into the east several years running, surely it can deliver ONCE here...

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
The Sunshine Coast has a Rainfall Warning and a SWS for heavy rain, seems odd to me unless they have the SWS for the wind. They've had both up since last night, I think or this morning for sure.moonshadow0825 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 4:33 pm maybe it was pulled to update, Richmond and Delta now have a special weather statement and not the rainfall warning (we had that earlier today though)

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
I'm only half joking. I think 16/17 was the year after the City decided to save something like 80% of the snow removal budget because of our disappearing winters.

How about 65 inches of snow in about 20 days? Happened before...
