Forget power outages, we're talking natural gas leaks on a scale never seen.

Hah. I'm not even ready for the sub prime time. My best lines generally come to me weeks after I actually needed them. If you ever heard me trying to trash talk in sports, its a joke (not in a good way)Forrest Gump wrote: ↑Thu Dec 24, 2020 11:22 pm What's this , are you applying for a guest spot @ the Gump and Sardineman Saturday night not quite ready for prime time Comedy club?

Thanks for checking in Creeker. We got a call from the doctor saying that her x-ray revealed no broken vertabrae. He said that her cognition seemed to be there and that she responded to pain in her paws. So that's the good news.Roberts Creeker wrote: ↑Thu Dec 24, 2020 11:41 pm What's the update on your dog? The bad news is that her pelvis was fractured in multiple locations requiring surgery. Thats going to run us into the many thousands of dollars. He's running a CT scan at some point just to see if there's any more damage he didn't detect so my fingers are crossed that we get good news out of that.
The surgery itself wouldn't happen until at least the 28th so she'll be away from us and stay medicated until then. So all in all, I think were 75 percent sure she's going to recover to some extent, probably never to the lofty aussie shepherd standards she was at which is sad. She could jump anything and run like the wind man.
Its just been a horrifying day but I'm trying to come to my senses knowing that she is getting the best care possible. We have severe regrets about not keeping a closer eye on her but we're on a large farm here and we did everything we could to lock her in the property. And the no pet insurance was a big miss as well but who knows, they might not have paid out for this, citing negligence.

Re: December 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Well, that's some good news at least. It's pretty incredible the care we can get for our animals these days. That must be a relief knowing she's getting great care and won't be in pain with the good meds they have available now. Dogs are such adaptable creatures, I've seen 3 legged ones going about life as if it was perfectly normal.PortKells wrote: ↑Thu Dec 24, 2020 11:57 pm Thanks for checking in Creeker. I have a border collie/Aussie Shepard x and they are agile. As a puppy she would hop up and walk along the window sills and even bounced up onto the stove top, she was worse than a cat. At about 18 months she would escape off my place and it's completely fenced, mine dogs seem to get wanderlust around then and being smart and active it only takes a minute and they're gone. I was lucky a neighbour saw some people walking down the road with her and brought her back, I got calls from a few other people too during that stage. Thankfully, she matured past that and is good about staying inside the fence.
It's so easy to look back and have remorse and feel bad but life happens and you can't keep them in a padded cell, even if you do, some of them can find some way to get injured. What brings me peace is that I believe that everything is working out for me, and I might not always know why for a long while but I usually find a silver lining. I hope you find one too.

I hope your pup makes a full recovery PortKells. We had a sad day in May this year when our dog died. She was very old though, almost 14.
EPS looks pretty good at day 10
