Even the mean is hovering just around 0c, which usually means snow levels of around 1200-1300m.

ECMWF says to hold off tonight. El Nino is here for a bit. Mild rain into dirty ridging and split hell.

Fork. Cancel. Move East as pattern looks to bring major snow potential to the Great Lakes. :alert:

Looks cold in the eastern prairies, ontario and quebec. Barf pattern for us.

Chris Scott, Chief Meteorologist at The Weather Network, says that “Canadians should be prepared for winter weather whiplash.”

For BC specifically, the current pattern of storms is expected to continue across the south coast with above-average precipitation. Colder than normal temperatures are also predicted to “dominate the season,” particularly during January, February, and partway into March.

Lots more rain coming your way tomorrow. Some places in the upper Sunshine Coast could have some impressive totals.

Quick reminder that YVR has had 3 straight snowless Decembers (2018-2019-2020), which is the longest streak on record. :problem:

There is moisture from a tropical storm off of Guam and from a disturbance off of Luzon (the Philippines) being fed into the westerlies with this system. That's some impressive moisture fetch with this AR.
