I firmly believe there are politically motivated pyromaniacs starting some of these fires.

Notice how Tatlayoko Lake was the 11th hottest place in BC and the 3rd coldest in the same day. 10th hottest if we note that Lytton has two weather stations. A diurnal range of 32 is very rare. The Puntzi area went from +1.5 to 35.5C in September 1988 and from 0 to 35 in May of 1983. I'll have to look at other stations and see if I can find a range over 35 during the hot months (Apr-Sept).

It's interesting the Whistler was hotter than Pemberton. Typically Pemberton is 3 to 5 degrees hotter given that it's lower elevation and further inland..

Did anyone see a thunderstorm this morning? I woke up and my lightning tracker app had gone off around 7 am or so. I see that a chance of t-storms has been added to Pitt Meadows forecast.

I completely agree! I find it so strange that the hope fire was started just hours before some of the strongest outflow of the season hit. Highly suspicious

Reports are that it started in one of the homeless camps around the area.

I heard that as well, but there is no better cover than a homeless camp to start a forest fire. I don’t have any of the answers but it’s just a feeling I get…

I saw a post about thunder and rain in Ladysmith around 5 am. Nothing here but there were a few raindrops on my car.

Well, unfortunately, not much in the way of meaningful relief over the next 10 days. The Euro is the best out of the 3.

This may have already been posted, but the Euro seasonal doesn't look all that great.

Speaking of the Hope fire, that area is already prone to mudslides during heavy rain events.

I'm thinking that it could turn into a real mess this winter if/when the heavy rains come.

I saw another where the Euro was drier than normal and much less snowfall in the mountains. Looks like a 2000-2001 pattern with split flow and lots of dry spells in Winter. La Nina weakening. Its worth noting the other models have a more typical La Nina seasonal pattern including wetter than normal.
