I'm just looking at the skies in Western direction from Chilliwack and this looks promising to me

Doesn't look like much of a step back to me. Either way, I wouldn't mind a cold onshore flow pattern with low elevation snows. It seems as of recent our major arctic blasts end up dry, so not much in the snow department. Perhaps we can get a few nice widespread snowfalls even if we can't get a strong arctic front. Though that may be harder with the blob in place.

For what its worth

Monty wrote: Thu Dec 26, 2019 2:44 pm Haha. Well I mean I don’t put much faith in the weeklies or whatever it is that goes out that far. Just saying. It’ll be small details that set us up for snow. But if amplification, favourable low track, digging short wave. Those things aren’t going to show up on the ensemble. The 12z eps at day 15 still looks pretty favourable.
I tend to agree with this. Eventually you want to see those features on the operational inside of 240 hours.

That sky looks promising. We’ve been socked in with low clouds for days here, which is kind of unusual. I wish we would have seen some clearing or drier air this afternoon. Malahat is down to 1.2C at 1200ft so the atmosphere is cooling this afternoon.

Looks like definite snow. Partially clear skies in Abby causing temps to drop. Just at 264th and the water on top of metal is now starting to freeze.

Yeah the clearing skies before the moisture moves in will likely help a lot.

I'm surprised there's no updated weather statement. The one from 8AM is still active.

Temps are dropping, 0.5 currently in East Chilliwack/Rosedale
