Hopefully rain comes along with the storm. The lightning storms a couple weeks back started quite a few fires in the interior.

This is the second year and just a one day event for them so far but it was also Festival of the Rolling Arts, the classic car and drag racing weekend so there was lots going on. I watched about 400-500 classic and fancy cars parade out of Sechelt on Friday night, it's always an amazing show. They go for a short run up to Halfmoon Bay. Saturday is the show and shine in Sechelt, and Sunday the drag races at the airport (and location of the weather station) and another show and shine in Pender Harbour. Great weekend!

Yes, 3 kids would do that.

It's pretty small maybe a dozen vendors but if you get there early some amazing bread and baked goods and the beach and just repainted mandela just down the road is worth a visit and a good place to run off some energy.

Surprisingly a lot of cloud cover this morning. EC is now only calling for 26c and currently only 22c. Wonderful day!

Too bad. The moon is really lighting up the sky too so this is not the best year for viewing. Cloud cover on the 11th, the peak could be an issue this year too.

SouthSardiswx wrote: Mon Aug 08, 2022 11:48 pm Wow Super Valu l haven't heard that name in years there still around? the Safeway peanut butter cookies and cream puffs are a favorite of ours in Chilliwack.
Although the cream puffs are not a everyday item.
I wonder if Bones will be rattling through Gibson's quickly.
SuperValu is the best up here imo. No Safeways but I've never really liked them. IGA has great tiny cream puffs, my sister brought them home one day, now they find their way into my basket on occasion.

A cool 23.1c in Roberts Creek, the sun keeps getting hidden by the clouds keeping the temp low. It was 22c earlier this morning and hasn't climbed much since then.

SouthSardiswx wrote: Mon Aug 08, 2022 11:32 pm That's just insane Toverheat, but in fairness in 2017 didn't the smokefest cap our highs somewhat? I was living in Mission at the time and the overnight lows in late August early September were the low 20's on afew mornings before gradually moderating.
Here's the daily data: https://climate.weather.gc.ca/climate_d ... 17&Month=9#

Relatively cool nights with that one, yep. On clear days with smoke I've often noticed nighttime temps dip a touch lower than forecast.

Still got quite hot during the day; YXX peaked at 36.4c on Sep 4, 2017. Had there been no smoke, count on at least another couple degrees hotter that day.

I hope those forecasted temps are for Downtown and not YVR.
It's called clown range for a reason.
