It's called clown range for a reason.

l remember all the Nov/90 flooding in western Washington that year.
I'm sure we had our share but don't recall as much as seeing pics. on Kiro/Komo/King and Q13.

Looking through the historical data again... the day you remember having warm rain/drizzle in the morning was the 27th. Arctic air passed through later that night. It was really only "warm" between both arctic blasts between the evening of the 26th and the evening of the 27th.

And yeah, 91-92 was pretty crap. Little cold/snow event in late October though.

Yes l remember that day well, it was the holiday's and l was amped up for the arrival of Arctic air and listening to John Paschold all day l think l was more exotic than my kids back then. Yes 91/92 was so depressing but 92/92 was also good Dec had snow and Jan/93 was outstanding.

Yes, that winter was an El Nino dud. We also had some wet flakes in February but it didn't stick. I remember hoping that it would start accumulating but it didn't.

Sumas prairie flooded in Nov'90 too. Not as bad as this time though, even though rainfall amounts were similar.

'92-93 was similar to 2016-17 with a persistent chill from mid December onwards with lots of wet snow events and over a month with snow on the ground. Only difference is we had a legit arctic blast in early January and a big snowstorm. Jan '93 was the last month to average below freezing at YVR.

Getting nasty out here... 8.2 mm just in the past hour. Still nothing like two weeks ago when I had 13.8 mm in a single hour, and probably six hours straight of 10+ mm/hr.

It was bookended with 2 great winters though. 92-93 was a good one too. Lots of snow in late Dec and then a long dry spell with Arctic air through much of January 93 with the snow on the ground for weeks. Dry and cold February too.

We didn't have a huge snowstorm going into the initial arctic blast like Seattle did but still had about a month with snow on the ground.
