Not looking good here either, well below freezing and close to heavy rain. Already everything is covered in a sheet of ice!

Just to add to this... including the old downtown station data, December 2021 was the 6th coldest Dec since 1898 in Vancouver!

Edit: Maybe 7th. December 2008 also had a mean temp of 0.9c. You missed that in your tweet.

I do think however, that a deep snowpack may mitigate the Flooding risk, as it will absorb most of the moisture, and relatively low temperatures will keep a lot of the snow from actually melting

For 2021.

YVR surpassed the 1971-2000 annual snowfall average (48.2cm) for the first time since 2008.

Great to see, but also shows how pathetic snowfall has been of late.

2014: 25.8cm
2015: T
2016: 28.4cm
2017: 43.4cm
2018: 25.8cm
2019: 31.2cm
2020: 45.4cm
2021: 49.3cm

Snow, so much snow we can't keep up, freezing rain now has caused issues all over the Hwy, cars in ditches, cars crashed into other cars, black ice everywhere, complete Sh*t show out there. Trees bent down from snow load and ice, our snow banks are 5 to 6 feet high now in the driveway and even higher up and down the road. Honestly as much as I love the snow we need a break here :tiredos:

Wow. Any pictures?

That sounds similar to what mid December 2008 to early January 2009 was like in the lower mainland.
