I wouldn't ditch the shorts just yet. Some of the longer range models are showing a ridge building around the 22nd of September. This time of year it can easily go back to a big ridge scenario. I'm not saying that's exactly what will happen but it could. It could be like 2018 where we had a wet period in September then an epic October dry spell.
