The winter that kept trying.

It is a shame that this Feb pattern did not occur in Jan. It would have helped to add substantial snow cover and totals to the region.
For now, it seems winter is trying to hold on into the first 2 weeks of March. It is not impossible to get decent snowfalls in March, but as most of you know, it is difficult. Longer days, warming sun with daytime temps. I think we will see one overrunning event before this wintry weather decides to leave. Pinning that down is pretty tough. You can see by the many failed forecasts this month from professionals.

As for tonight, look for snow to redevelop over night. You may still see some accumulation up to 5 CM in some higher elevations. The chances remain high until tomorrow afternoon before we head back into a sunny streak. Another arctic outbreak will begin to occur this weekend once again under clear skies.

Enjoy your last few shots at winter!

Like a Knuckle season starts out promising then collapses, we had Weather pro stand on his head this season but he couldn't stop Nito in overtime.

I hope we will get some good thunder storms this spring if the weather keeps being bonkers we might have some awesome instability or... we will get screwed as usual.

You need to watch the radar. You will see bands of moisture being spun out and start to form basically out of nowhere tonight. These little instabilities in the atmosphere could cause extremely heavy snow showers in pockets stretching from Vancouver to the Valley. The eastern sections will be slightly favoured. As for lower elevations, you will need the heavier precip to bring down temps a bit more, although the upper air temps support snow, so we are just waiting for a more uniform temp spread to get the snow down to sea level. Again, not impossible for tonight, but a bit harder than normal.

So in other words theres a chance the Knucks could make the playoffs if they play a uniform style of play.
