Unless we get some extreme weather event we won't see anyone until October onward.
Up near Sechelt a little island called thormanby island. Pretty nice spot.
I'd bet even a rain event would get some chatter going here. Unfortunately that 18Z run looks to be an outlier, nothing on the 0z and 6z runs.

Lovely Mr. Kells come to think of it you did mention it about heading up there.
My apologies for forgetting its not alzheimer's but sometimes weather can block all other thoughts  might have been the 44c degree weather.
Isn't it strange after going through the hottest weather of our lives no one's complaining about upper 20's heat.
I see the western U.S. is just absolutely insanley baking again.
BTW l got notification to book my second jab, l'll be fully vacc'd by next Sat.  :D

Oh nice! I actually got mine out of the way two fridays ago, so amazing. This country has killed it when you look around the world and there are just wave after wave of covid. Its been so smooth with the rollout and the uptake. We're probably ahead of or closing in on the USA.

As for the weather...well that's its own crapshow. Just no rain for a month and nothing in sight although apparently the 00Z Euro showed us getting a dribble or two on Friday so that's something. Gonna go check the models, hoping for something good.

The fire in Okanagan Falls started yesterday right next door to me.
I looked out my kitchen window as I was washing dishes because I heard a helicopter really loud and wondered what all the commotion was and then I saw a fire. My husband was in the garage working on a car can I go I told him there was a fire next-door. Luckily we had 2 of our brine trucks converted to water and ready to go. We had 1600 gallons of water on board. He went over and stopped it from coming on to our property. So far so good. We did get a mandatory evacuation yesterday but we haven’t left.

One tiny trough on the EPS and immediately back to dry and warm for the foreseeable future.

Man the dialogue on the AF is so weird. It's like they've got 12 different married couples locked in a room trying to figure out who's right with the stipulation that their opinions can only be the exact opposite of each other. Right now Phil is still just so insistent that there will be a period of significant troughing with only the weirdest possible explanations. Hasn't even been close to reality. Giving Tim the opportunity for non-stop "I told you so" moments. I just wish they would have a separate thread with the model loop postings which are the only reason I go there.

Thanks for reminding me why I stopped looking at the American forums.  I spent way to much time on there last winter.

If the previous few months were even normally wet then I'd welcome this dry stretch but...

We really need some rain. And I hate the winter rains here! :silent:
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

A new fire near Vernon today. None that much of a concern though. Kinda concerned about the Big Stick Lake fire in the Chilcotin. Yesterday it was 3km away from houses, and today it's just 1 km away.

And we'll burn down every small historical town in BC just to prove it.
