I agree, it's give and take and often you don't know until the time...at least in my area, lots of times I'm 'promised' snow and it doesn't come, or it comes unexpectedly followed rapidly by a snowfall warning from EC. Can't really blame them for not getting it right, I can drive 2 minutes and find rain, when I have snow or 10 minutes and it's snowing when I have high cloud and no precip. Lots of little microclimates up here.
Been around for many years,just an observer for a long time.Very busy this fall so only was able to check back in recently. Micro climates the norm
here also.

Just came in from outside... a light breeze at times, but mostly nothing. Still only 4.0C... the air does feel crisp though.

-1.3 here, no wind, deck and stairs have sparkling frost on them, so cold my wet boots stuck to them. No precipitation today.

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.
An arctic ridge of high pressure over the BC interior will intensify this morning.
Strong northeasterly outflow winds of 70 km/h gusting to 90 have developed over the Southern Gulf Islands, Howe Sound and Greater Victoria.
Strong northeasterly outflow winds with gusts up to 90 km/h have also developed over the western and central Fraser Valley as well as the southeast sections of Metro Vancouver including Surrey and Langley.
The strong outflow winds will ease tonight.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage.
