We have seen both this month

Northerly flow. Cold at upper level and surface

East to NE flow. Cold upper levels but surface cold is less impressive. Dry air with some downslope component.

I’m pretty excited about the up coming weather. Can start low elevation hikes, riding my road bike and trail running. I love the snow but this sunshine coming up is gonna be GREAT!

So is this a deterministic or probabilistic forecast? Last fall NOAA called for an 80%-90% chance of above normal temperatures this winter. Then came February. I put as much belief in seasonal forecasts as I do political polls.

Any outflow winds pestering anyone this morning? Wind warnings are up, and it's windy here, but nothing special.

Was chilly last night; dropped to -4.2C here. Temps should recover quite well into the afternoon.

Could see some impressive late Feb temps in sheltered areas tonight. Upper level temps look to be around -10/-11C.
