Re: July 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
I had heavy rain this morning. It was reminiscent of a fall storm.

It's been warm and sunny here all day with some high clouds, not a sign of rain at all.stuffradio wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2019 2:06 pm I had heavy rain this morning. It was reminiscent of a fall storm.

Re: July 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
I don’t think 21.4c would be below average if you are looking from a month to date perspective. And 9 of the 14 days have had above average highs at YVR.Typeing3 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2019 11:58 am Here is some reality...the average high at YVR so far this July is sitting at 21.4C; this happens to be below average. We're not even halfway through the month and YVR has already recorded six days with precip. The average for the entire month is just under seven days.
Fact: through July 14th, this month has been cooler, cloudier and wetter than normal.

Thank you Monty. This month has been seasonal without really much question. A true old school PNW july.

Still looking at the possibility of a few sub 10C lows this weekend.

The model is overdoing it. It will be 12-14C in the Vancouver area and slightly cooler -- ~10-12C -- out in the Fraser Valley and elevated areas. I'd be very surprised by sub-10C lows.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Re: July 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
Came back from a few days of excellent trout fishing in the sun peaks area near kamloops. Between my brother n law and myself we landed 38 fish between 12-17 inches, beat him by an unconverted touchdown 22-16, kept a few , mainly catch&release.
Crazy temperature difference yesterday when I left for home, at 2 pm sun peaks village was 13° and when I got to the bottom near kamloops it was 27°, hard to imagine that the elevation would make that much of a difference in summer.

Re: July 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
Latest runs are drier with the system for tonight and tomorrow and EC has taken out all mention of showers on Friday now for the Metro Vancouver area. After that looks dry as far as the eye can see with the CPC showing that drying trend with "A-B" for Washington for Temp and Precip for the 6-10 day and the 8-14 day outlooks. All this talk of such a wet, cool, gloomy summer is not really true on the coast, it is for the interior but the coast no way. In Coquitlam June rainfall totals of 42mm were about normal and currently 22.8mm for July is about right on track. Not even comparable to July 1993 or 2011 for cool weather and rainfall.

Blobby McBlobface
Although there seems to be some disagreement on the issue. I believe the generally mild temps despite the troughy weather could be related.

Yep... especially temps overnight. Despite highs being held back, min temps have greatly aided in pushing up the mean temp this month.
